Goldenheart and Sapele Memorial box
Made with goldenheart, this memorial box was made as a beautiful and unique, individual box intended to contain the remains of a loved one or companion. The top is made of solid goldenheart timber framed using light-colored sapele. The body of the box is joined using dovetails for the sides while the bottom rests securely by means of four individual rabbeted spaces to create tongue-in-groove joints along the bottoms of all four sides. Final closure of the box is intended to be made using custom-made goldenheart dowels (which are included with the box) passing through the top and into holes bored into the top edges of the lower box, and smeared with glue.
